Tenuta San Guido Sassicaia 2018 – Bolgheri Sassicaia DOC is a prestigious Italian red wine from the renowned Tenuta San Guido estate in Tuscany. This iconic wine is crafted primarily from Cabernet Sauvignon (85%) and a small amount of Cabernet Franc (15%), offering a deep ruby colour with vibrant violet reflections. On the nose, it delivers complex aromas of dark fruit, blackcurrant, blackberry, along with subtle hints of herbs, graphite, and cedar. On the palate, it is medium to full-bodied, with finely integrated tannins, bright acidity, and a long, elegant finish that reveals layers of dark fruit and spice. Aged for around 24 months in French and American oak barriques, the wine shows great balance and aging potential, making it perfect for cellaring over the next decade or more. Pairs excellently with grilled meats, game, and aged cheeses.
