Cantina Rizzi Barbaresco Rizzi is a red wine from Piemonte, Italy. Mineral and ferrous notes are joined by dried herbs on the nose. The palate is elegant, with a tannic structure that would enable this wine to age gracefully. The simple winery uses concrete tanks for fermentation and large oak casks for ageing. The result is a traditional style with a modern sensibility, full yet delicate, and always expressing the magical floral perfume of Barbaresco. The wines of Barbaresco are made from the Nebbiolo grape, same as Barolo, but tend to be softer, more fragrant and immediately appealing.
Style: Mid weight - cherry, sharp raspberry, dried herbs, fennel. Food pairing: roast veal.
