Franchi Quarantina Turnip Tops, also known as Cima di Rapa or Italian Sprouting Broccoli, is a classic Southern Italian heirloom variety celebrated for its tender stems, leafy greens and delicate broccoli-like flower shoots. Highly prized in traditional Mediterranean cuisine, this fast-growing vegetable delivers a distinctive, pleasantly earthy flavour with subtle peppery notes.
The name “Quarantina” refers to its rapid development, with harvests often ready in approximately forty days under favourable growing conditions. The plants produce abundant leafy greens and compact flowering shoots ideal for sautéing, steaming, pasta dishes and authentic Italian recipes such as orecchiette con cime di rapa.
