Franchi Romanesco Courgette is a classic Italian heirloom zucchini variety celebrated for its distinctive ribbed shape, vibrant striped skin and exceptional flavour. Known in Italy as “Zucchino Romanesco,” this traditional variety produces elongated green fruits with pale striping, tender flesh and a delicate nutty sweetness that has made it a favourite in Italian kitchens for generations.
Carefully selected by Franchi Sementi, Italy’s historic seed company founded in 1783, this premium courgette variety is prized for both its prolific harvests and superior eating quality. The fruits remain firm yet tender when young, with a refined texture and rich flavour ideal for grilling, roasting, frying, stuffing or incorporating into pasta dishes and Mediterranean recipes. The edible blossoms are also highly valued in traditional Italian cooking.
