Umami Italian black garlic is produced by a controlled aging process, without addition of preservatives or chemical additives. The aging process makes it extremely digestible unlike fresh garlic. The cloves have a gentle garlic character with balsamic-like sweetness, earthy notes and a smooth umami finish. Their soft texture makes them easy to slice, mash or stir into sauces, dressings and marinades.
Perfect with pasta, risotto, roasted vegetables, grilled meats, fish, mushrooms, cheese boards, dips or salad dressings, they are ideal for adding complexity without the sharpness of fresh garlic. They can also be used to lift soups, stews and pan sauces.
